The Tradition
An Ancient Craft, Still Cooked the Same Way.
Born from a love of Abruzzo
Arrosticrats was founded by Jesse Rees, whose love of arrosticini began while living in Abruzzo as a teenager. After discovering them in the mountain villages, he never understood why this simple, brilliant food had not become better known in the UK.
In the mountain villages of Abruzzo, arrosticini have been cooked the same way for centuries. Tiny cuts of mutton or lamb threaded on wooden skewers, cooked over long narrow channels of glowing charcoal. No marinades. No fuss. Just fire, salt, and mutton or lamb.
The method is simple but unforgiving — without the right grill, the heat is wrong, the cooking is uneven, and the experience is lost. That's why the grill matters.

Why We Built It
The Right Tool for the Right Tradition.
ARROSTICRATS was built because cooking arrosticini on a standard BBQ just doesn't work. The heat distribution is wrong. The channel width is wrong. The whole geometry of a standard grill fights against the skewer format.
So we built the right tool. A purpose-designed, flat-pack stainless steel grill that replicates the exact method used in Abruzzo — and that packs away in seconds when you're done, travels easily and comes with its own heavy-duty washable carry case. Mine lives in my car, lies flat on the floor of the boot where it takes up no space and is on hand for whenever I need it.
